SUSTAINABILITY & IMPACT
Building a better business
We take a practical approach to sustainability.
It’s not a statement. It’s how we operate.
We focus on decisions that improve our business, support our people, and create long-term value.
Years Experience
Creating opportunities. Enriching lives
This principle runs through everything we do.
It comes from our journey — from having no opportunity, to being given one.
Now, we take responsibility for passing that forward.
We ask the same question every day:
what can we do to make people better by walking through our doors?
People and social mobility
We believe business should open doors.
We actively support initiatives that help people develop skills, gain confidence, and access real opportunities.
Giving back to the community — and the country that supported us — is not optional. It’s part of who we are.
Education, industry and community
We work closely with education providers and organisations to connect learning with real business.
• Annual Dragon’s Den-style enterprise day with Derby College T-Level students, judged by our CEO
• Live business case study delivered at the University of Derby by our management team
• Student solutions reviewed and evaluated against real commercial challenges
• Proud ambassadors of Young Enterprise UK, supporting their annual finals through connections and keynote speaking
• Sitting on the Business and Law Advisory Board at De Montfort University, contributing industry insight
We also support the wider hospitality and local community through:
• Membership with Venues of Excellence and proud sponsorship of the Cook and Serve event
• Founding sponsorship of Ethan Utd, a community charity veterans football team based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch
We give people real exposure — grounded in how business actually works.
Innovation and the future
We are part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), supported by Innovate UK, in collaboration with the University of Derby.
The University played a key role in securing and shaping the programme, bringing academic expertise into our business.
The focus is on advancing how we use data, systems and emerging technology within our supply chain.
The objective is clear:
improve efficiency, reduce waste, and operate smarter.
Operating responsibly
Our ESG approach is grounded in action.
• Investment in modern, efficient infrastructure
• Continuous improvement in operational processes
• Focus on supply chain transparency
• Safe, structured environment for our team
We prioritise what delivers real impact.
As part of this, we have self-funded the installation of 550 solar panels on our Derby facility.
The system generates 214.43 kWp, saving approximately 40,000 kg of CO₂ emissions per year.
Long-term thinking
We are building a business that lasts.
That means balancing growth with responsibility — making decisions that support today without compromising tomorrow.
Because success isn’t just measured in numbers.
It’s measured in impact.
